Processor Intel Core i7 975 Melaju dengan Kecepatan 3.33GHZ

     

Intel telah merilis processor Core i7 Extreme Edition, yang menjadi chip desktop paling cepat, menurut yang diklaim Intel. Chip processor Intel Core i7 975 dengan manufactur 45nm ini memiliki arsitektur Nehalem, dengan clock speed 3.33GHz, termasuk 8MB L3 Smart Chache yang berjalan dengan clock speed 4 core. Untuk frekuensi Dual QuickPath Interconnects (QPI) akan mentransfer data dengan kecepatan 6.4GT/sec, dan performance Intel's SpeedStep (EIST), Virtualization (VT), dan teknologi Turbo Boost auto-overclocking, telah diaktifkan.

Slot chip processor Intel Core i7 975 ini akan menjadi kelas kedua dari Core i7 965, yang memiliki harga $1,039 di NewEgg dan di Platinum Micro seharga $1,078. Menurut sumber Hot Hardware, processor quad-core  Intel Core i7 975 tersebut memiliki 4 persen hingga 5 persen kecepatan di borad daripada processor Intel sebelumnya, Intel Core i7 965.

Processor Intel Core i7 975 ini memiliki ukuran 263m2, didukung oleh L2 cache 1MB, L2 “Smart” cache 8MB, satu multiplier clock 25X, dan satu TDP (Thermal Design Power) 130W. Selain itu, Intel juga merilis Core i7 950  dengan clock 3.06GHz dan frekuensi QPI 4.8GT/sec. Untuk harga processor  Intel Core i7 950 berkisar antara $540 hingga $570.(h_n)
